iperfungus There's only one word that can describe this incredible project and the Music whitin: PERFECTION. Every single note lays exactly where it must be. Simon made a miracle and found the right musician for every tune. I'm following him and the project since years and I know the effort and the dedication he put in this release. This album is a "must have" for anyone who loves music and not products. Thank you, friends! Favorite track: Kiss the Sun.

kahlil santiago this is the kind of music I aspire to be able to create. It's accessible as pop music, but the depth and sophistication of the arrangement, composition, the skill needed to pull it off, and the quality of note selection are up there with the most complex music. staggering thought and feel placed into these tracks. The mixing and mastering is my favorite kind. many styles, but this one breathes. Favorite track: Dance the Rain.

I’ve seen you here before So many times before Are you ready to hear me now A simple story told so many times Now, nowhere left to hide Time sits here and waits Waits here for you Waits here for everyone Welcome friend, please hear me There’s an emptiness I can’t describe Stretching far and searching wide I realise that life is just a ride Heal the pain of all before I realise that life is so much more Than just a ride Than just a hope Love is a place that’s within you Love is a place that never sleeps Love is this place Love is a place that can’t be wounded Love is a place that never weeps Love is this place Love is a place you cannot find As it’s a place you cannot lose It’s not a place that’s in your mind Love is a place it’s oh so simple Love is a place you cannot fool Love is this place Love is this place Love is this place © Simon Wood Harris & Angus Landman

Weather and time Crumble the rock Stir up the wind Unwind the clock Draw lines on faces Ache in the bones Tired in her restlessness Devil’s the stone Questions dig deeper As death draws the line The snows are all melting In this Weather and Time Weather and Time The passing of seasons The shuffle of years Not bothered for reason The crying of tears There are no answers Just the wind from the west A prayer for the kneeling A blessing for the blessed Questions dig deeper As death draws the line The snows are all melting In this Weather and Time Weather and Time What hand, what eye What vision, what dream Put stars across the sky Catches every heart Weather and Time © Simon Wood Harris & Angus Landman

Today I’m alone Got nowhere to go My senses alive With just the thought of you The shape of your face The touch of your hands Etched out in my mind And the rain on my face Washes the memories away Today I’m alive I’ve got this feeling your near The wind strong above Brings the hope of you The darkest days The child’s survival Fighting for the right to be here Deeper than Red Blood I’ll find the place Just to be by your side Deeper than Red Blood I’ll fight for you Deeper than Red Blood I’ll find a space In the arms of an Angel Deeper than Red Blood I’ll yearn for you I’ll yearn for you Deeper than Red Blood I’ll find the place Just to be by your side Deeper than Red Blood I’ll fight for you Deeper than Red Blood I’ll find a space In the arms of an Angel Deeper than Red Blood I’ll yearn for you © Simon Wood Harris

The Reason 06:46
They told us it would be simple Send our boys to fight for our freedom Supposed to be simple But they’ve never worn a gun on their back Supposed to be easy And we’ll show them our way And they’ll thank us for that They showed us the maps and the photos They told us time and time again Their weapons are loaded But now that there’re out there completely alone There must be a reason Those who lost their lives Did for a reason, did for a cause So show me the reason Explain me the cause The whole world’s against you But you picked up your sword You quoted the chapter, the verse and the law And still you won’t tell us the real reason for your war For your War For your War For your War © Simon Wood Harris

Friend 05:50
Can you feel, like I feel This painful moment, in my heart Can you touch, the sharpened glass It goes right through skin, to find your heart This precious moment, is just a lie Amongst the friends, amongst your friends This precious time, comes round again Against your heart, against your shroud, against the world. The sky is black, the dawn is here They stole the sun, they stole our children Where is the rain, I need the rain To stop the fire, to stop the pain This precious moment, is just a lie Amongst the friends, amongst your friends This precious time, comes round again Against your heart, against your shroud, against the world. The sky’s on fire, my hearts on fire Can’t feel the rain, where is the rain Bring me the ark, with all my friends So I can touch, for one last time This precious moment, is just a lie Amongst your friends, amongst your friends This precious time, comes round and round Against your heart, against your shroud This precious moment, it's just a lie Amongst the friends, amongst your friends If this is it, my final breath I want to be, against your shroud. © Simon Wood Harris

You don’t have to see the world through my eyes You don’t have to feel the pain in my veins You just have to know the way to the truth You just have to know it all - you don’t have to know at all You don’t have to see the sky through the smoke You don’t have to watch the lies on the news You just need to know where what who or when You just have to know it’s you - it was always just - for you - for you - for you All of your story All of your life All of your faith rolled into this world All of your truth All of your memories All of your breath to show me the way Into the dream stripped down this this something deep within was torn they couldn’t look me in the eye afraid to cross the line into the dream, stripped down to bone they could not cry despite the rage the salt runs deep in to the wounds what have I done to deserve this rip off my skin and start to bleed and feel the sky getting darker i cannot hear, I cannot breathe this fucking world is getting darker touch this pulse feel my heat take me down show me the way give me a sign give me a say to tell my kin that I love them Searching for some clarity Looking for nirvana Will I find it overseas Maybe even Ghana Or is it right here Under a cherry moon Patience is a virtue You will see very soon The meaning of life Is not the answer The rhythm of earth I'm just a dancer Side stepping Part silhouettes Gracefully Now watch how I pirouette Even though the world deems you worthless Your purpose is beneath the surface Buried treasure is beyond being measured By those who don't value So what can they tell you, or even sell you That's gonna make you complete To even walk with belief or greet defeat Just make decisions and walk through the valley The world doesn't end when you hit a blind alley Do not dilly dally. © Simon Wood Harris, Angus Landman & TY Chijoke

about

UNIDENTIFIED FLYING PROJECT is a musical visionary story bringing together 30 pro-production musicians and artists, over 60+ hand-picked project musicians, collaborators, singers & producers, 19 different engineers working from 14 recording studios & sometimes across oceans & disparate time zones, but all with one vision & many years in the making, brought together by writer, producer and arranger Simon Wood Harris.

In turn, every musician on every track has a story. The people with whom they have worked all have stories. 'UNIDENTIFIED FLYING PROJECT by simon wood harris' is its own story encompassing all of this. It is a creative venture seeking to exploit the musical genius of bespoke teams of musicians hand-picked to provide the sonic landscape for Simon's passionate and profound songs.

Each song begins its story on the old portable cassette recorder sat atop Simon's crumbling Steinway. From there each song gets shared amongst the musicians chosen for that track, to whom Simon gives a unique blend of creative direction and free rein. This is where the magic happens: the meeting of the minds of these astonishing players and singers, channelling their own back-stories and collaborative endeavour into utterly mind-blowing performances amid utterly breathtaking arrangements.

Take a song, indulge in the fantasy of what musicians might work for each part and then bring them together in one room and see what happens.

What would come out of having those absolute 'edge of the precipice' talents bonding at a level which most of us will never even start to understand? Then start from scratch with the next song – dig deeper into those fantasies and imagine the idea of what might happen the next time
